La Créature

In this vibrant alley, where the fierce pink clashes with the blazing orange, I find myself standing before a scene that defies logic. A dignified, mysterious old man stands there, poised and almost motionless, as if frozen in silent contemplation. Beside him, an immense, black and majestic bird towers like a guardian of secrets. Its slender and graceful form creates a striking, almost surreal contrast against these saturated walls.

I wonder: what does this man represent? Is he a reflection of my own journey, of that part of me which, despite the noise and vivacity of modern life, seeks calm, simplicity, a return to the essential? His eyes, though directed toward the ground, seem to hold a world of wisdom, of acceptance. Perhaps he is an embodiment of tranquility, an allegory of being rooted in a world that’s constantly moving. Next to him, the black bird, with its proud stance, becomes an imposing presence, almost divine, like a silent guide or a messenger from another world.

This bird… it stirs within me a sense of the unknown, the unfathomable. It is both beautiful and unsettling, alluring and intimidating. Perhaps it symbolizes my own shadowed areas, those parts of myself I don’t yet understand or prefer to ignore. At the same time, it embodies a kind of transcendence. Far from being just an animal, it seems to carry answers to questions I have yet to even ask.

As I stand before this scene, metaphysical questions emerge. Who am I in this space? Am I the old man, at peace with myself, or am I the bird, a figure of mystery, incomprehension, and grandeur? Am I both, or perhaps neither? This improbable encounter forces me to question the duality of existence: calm and storm, wisdom and mystery, grounding and the desire to ascend.

Facing this artwork, I understand that life is a blend of what is familiar and what eludes us. This contrast of colors, this contrast of beings, perhaps this is the true essence of our human experience: a tension between what we grasp and what surpasses us, between what we see and what remains hidden.

In my living room, the artwork takes on another dimension, like a constant invitation to dive into these reflections. It becomes a reminder, every day, that the balance between self-acceptance and exploring the unknown is an endless journey. A silent yet persistent invitation to never stop seeking, observing, understanding.
